1 Vaccinium calycinum × Vaccinium reticulatum Alakai Bog Trail, Koke'e State Park occuring a few feet away from the cliff at the edge of the Alakai bog. Preserved_Specimen About 30 upright long, woody, spindly stalks sparsely vegetated throughout ranging 2-6 ft tall comprising this shrub. Leaves long ovate, margins with single, minute serrations. Vegetative and habit characters typical of calycium. Reticulatum characters include: flowers striped pink and green, corolla tips curling up. Calyx lobes green in flower then turning to red in fruit, lanceolate in shape in all stages (as opposed to blunt-tipped in unhybridized calycinum).
